I am going to challenge this idea.

Have you determined if the fuel economy savings outweigh the cost savings from buying the cheaper, quicker, 328i xdrive ?

Sure, you get worse fuel economy, but the B48 is so much nicer to drive than the B47.

Just as a counterpoint; what about a Golf Sportwagen with 4 motion? You get the DCT, and you could buy it brand new for the same price.

I’m not ruling that out, neither am I ruling out a used Jetta TDI wagon, but I really love the looks of these cars and they are just so much nicer inside and are way more fun to drive.
